With Xavi Hernandez having a very uncertain future as Barcelona head coach, plans are being drawn up to identify possible successors, in the event that Joan Laporta pulls the trigger and fires the 44-year-old manager. Hansi Flick and Rafa Marquez are well-placed two candidates, and another has now been added to the shortlist.

According to Diario AS, Deco spoke to Porto manager Sergio Conceicao when he was in Portugal earlier this week, to establish whether he’d be interested in taking over at Barcelona in the summer. A response must have been positive, as he has now been added to the list alongside Flick and Marquez.

Conceicao is expected to depart Porto at the end of the season, and he was already linked with the Barcelona job when Xavi first announced that he would be stepping down. He could get his chance now, although for now, it’s likely that Flick and Marquez are the two leading candidates for the position.
